She didn’t go out to visit her boyfriend.
— Tony Spera

Rumors began circulating after the wikipedia page for the real Annabelle doll was updated to included she escaped from the Warren Occult Museum at 3:00am on August 14, 2020.

Tony Spera, son-in-law of Ed and Lorraine Warren. went to youtube to dismiss the claims. In a creepily-lit video from the museum, Spera discusses the claim and spins around to reveal that Annabelle is still in her resting place.

“Annabelle’s here. She didn’t do anywhere — she didn’t take a trip — she didn’t fly first class — and she didn’t go out to visit her boyfriend,” Spera said in a Youtube video.

Annabelle, the doll

Annabelle, the doll

Annabelle is a doll allegedly haunted by demons. In 1970, the doll was given to a nursing student. The doll began to act weirdly not long after being received by the student. The student and her roommates tried to accept the doll but it started to act maliciously toward them. This is when the Warren’s were called to investigate. They eventually performed an exorcism to quell the spirits and brought it into their home to “protect others from the doll.” Annabelle's story was the basis for many movies including the Annabelle series.

Spera ends his video by saying, “I’d be concerned if Annabelle really did leave because she’s nothing to play with.”
