Mysterious Monolith Mysteriously Vanishes
Utah, USA —
The monolith found in Utah by state park services has disappeared.
The 12-foot metal monolith discovered in the Utah desert has disappeared with little information.
According to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in an announcement made on Saturday (Nov. 28), the monolith was removed by an unknown party sometime late Friday.
“We have received credible reports that the illegally installed structure, referred to as the 'monolith,' has been removed,” a Facebook post from BLM read.
“The BLM did not remove the structure, which is considered private property.” The agency is unsure who removed the monolith
The monolith was first discovered November 18 by officers of the Utah Department of Public Safety Aero Bureau.
Since that time a few experienced hikers have found the former location of the monolith, including David Surber.
Surber set out to find the monolith as soon as news of its existence broke. As one of the first as the monolith, he made several observations for curious minds.
The first was that the structure seemed to be made out of Aluminum. The monolith was not magnetic. It appeared to be three pieces riveted together with two rivets missing on the top.
