Okanagan Lake, British Columbia —

A Calgary man may have captured evidence of the famed Canadian cryptid known as Ogopogo. The sighting took place when Adam Schwartz was visiting family for Canadian Thanksgiving (October 12) in the city of West Kelowna. 

“All of a sudden we saw this weird formation of waves that were kind of going against the current of what was coming in,” Schwartz told local press. 

“It was a really calm day and no boats were passing by or anything.”

Schwartz said he watched the waves for 30-seconds before starting to record it before the object disappeared. 

Schwartz, who grew up around the lake hearing many of its legends believes Ogopogo is fish-like and “is really long and likes to stick down low in the lake and pops up every once in a while.”

He continued saying that this is the first time he had ever seen anything like this on Okanagan Lake. He uploaded his video on Tuesday to TikTok [Editor’s Note: At the time of publication Schwartz’ video was unable to be found].

The video was shown to an Ogopogo researcher, Bill Steciuk.

“The crazy thing is, right now, it’s a turbulent time in Okanagan Lake. You have cold water coming up to the surface, creating all kinds of considerations. 

You have temperature differences, it could be a thermal wave of some type. It could also be a light reflection off the actual crest of the waves. So it could be a lot of things.”
