Two sets of pilots reported a “guy” flying a jetpack next to LAX on Sunday.

Pilots from two different flights have reported seeing a person flying at their altitude (approximately 3000 feet) Sunday, August 30, 2020.

The pilots from American Airlines flight, 1997, was the first to report the “unidentified flying person.” They passed the person coming as close as 300-yards from the airspace interloper. The pilots who first spotted the jetpack user seemed nonchalant about the event.

Even the control tower was not worried but almost annoyed responding in a calm work manning, “were they off to your left side or right side?”

The sighting of the “rocketerr” was shortly confirmed by another set of pilots describing the same mysterious flying individual. Flight authorities are investigating the event. Aviation expert were not pleased by the stunt.

Ross Aimer, aero consulting expert, said, “The danger is that, God-forbid, they hit this object - what ever it was - and it gets sucked up into an engine; causing considerable damage to the airplane, passengers, and not considering the person in the jetpack.”

The FAA in investigating but say this is all just an unverified report. Originally, the FAA did not even say it was pilots making the report. That enlightenment only came when reporters from FOX11 pressed the FAA for more information.

Aviation safety expert, Steve Cowell, said, “I believe the pilots. about they [they] saw.”

On Jetpacks Cowell said, “Even the most technologically advanced jetpacks can only fly very briefly; so it’s possible this person came up, and came down, and driving away.”

So far investigations are not turned up any suspects.
