Tracks Of The ‘Beast Of Leeds’ Found In Woods.
Leeds, England —
Two hunters have discovered unusual tracks in a remote forest that suggest the “Beast of Leeds” is back.
Ian John Platt, from the Yorkshire Outdoor Hunters group, was geocaching with a friend when they spotted something strange in the woods near Leeds; set of large tracks imprinted south-east of the city.
“Curiosity led us to the area where we spotted the tracks as we wondered where it led to. The exact location is difficult to access and we were not strictly allowed there,” Platt’s friend told the media.
"We were out looking for a geocache spot close by which we located and has been documented by our Yorkshire Outdoor Hunters Group.”
The track resembles a large canine or large cat track which is leading many to think that the Beast of Leeds has returned. The beast of Leeds was a large predator feared to exist in the thick woods outside of the City. It was thought of as a story to keep children in the safety of the community.
"My first thoughts when I saw them was this is something big, I have seen deer and badgers in the same spot but deer tracks are easy to spot."
"I had never seen anything like these before hence why we asked if anyone could help identify."
While there is much to be asked of the photos (such as scale-reference and other identifying tools) the tracks are an interesting way to start 2021. The pair planned to take accurate measurements of the prints. They also intended to set up a trail camera. Sadly, the river level rose snow had blanketed the area; leading the area and track to be lost.
