West Yorkshire Police are being asked to deal with situations from another world. Throughout 2021, The police of West Yorkshire has received a number of reports about aliens and UFOs.
Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request, the formerly redacted logs of the West Yorkshire Police have been released to the public and show reports from across the Yorkshire region.
Below is a chronological list of the most interesting cases of the previous year:
April 2021
During the month of April, a report from Morley, Leeds, was called in about a UFO. The police log read, "Caller is reporting he thinks he has seen a UFO.
“He could (see) this ‘thing’ in the sky that kept appearing then disappearing. This occurred 22 times where ‘something flashed’ then it disappeared, then it flashed again. (He) says he watched this happen for approx 15 mins.”
In Baildon, Bradford a report stated, “Caller states that an alien has attacked her.” There was nothing else about the report.
May 2021
There was only one sighting in may of note. In Bowling and Barkerend, Bradford a resident reported, “a number of solid lights that look like stars moving in the sky...and has sen up to 14 of these lights loving (moving?); All spaced evenly out and heading north-east. Seemed to be higher up in the sky than planes.”
Police noted, “The caller doesn't think they were planes due to the number and that they didn't flicker. Doesn’t think it was comets due to the apparently controlled nature of the movement. White lights from all these items."
July 2021
In Knottingley, Wakefield a resident reported multiple orbs in the sky. The log reads, “Caller reporting white orbs in the sky; two shot off like shooting star; he’s seen some disappear; he has this on video; he’s seen 10 tonight; and they’re moving really weird; He can’t see them now. But he’s seen them last two nights. He’s just seen another now, and another one.”
August 2021
Halifax had two reports during the month of August. The first only states that the local person claims, “an alien put drugs in his eyes.”
The second report from Halifax reads, “Reporting he has seen an alien...he has seen something floating in the sky, talking to him.”
October 2021
October was the last month for UFO and Alien sightings and it was the biggest.
In Pontefract, the report reads, “He has rang the police due to believing seeing an alien outside his window.”
Halifax continued to have strange sightings with someone reporting to police their theories of humanity. The police report reads, “Male talking about life savers and aliens. And has a vision that the Queen sent him to another galaxy. And people can time travel.”
In Weetwood, a person made the claim to police that they were “abducted by aliens.”
Dangers of Making Reports
In November of 2021, former police officer Alan Godfrey went public about what he saw in the skies decades ago.
According to Godfrey, In June 1980, a group of people (Godfrey included) found the body of Zigmund Adamski in a coal yard. Adamski had his head shaved and had a ring of burn marks. A slimy yellow-green substance was oozing from a wound in the neck. Adamski was also said to be wearing strange clothes and seemed to be dropped on the pile of coal from a distant height.
He later encountered a large object hovering above Burnley Road in Todmorden at 5am, November 28, 1980. Media linked the two reports together and Godfrey became a minor celebrity.
After enjoying a small amount of attention a mysterious man came to greet him from the “Ministry.”
Godfrey says that one day he was called into the office of his chief. Inside was a man in civilian clothes and a large set of files.
Godfrey told the media, “I asked who he was and he just said, ‘All you need to know is I'm the man from the ministry.’”
Godfrey said he noticed a sketch he had made of the UFO he saw in the man’s files.
“I was ordered under the Official Secrets Act not to disclose anything to the media... about Adamski or my own encounter,” Godfrey said.
Godfrey kept encountering this mysterious man and even told him, “to take a long walk on a short pier but in a good Yorkshire version of it.”
After leaving the force, Godfrey said, "It wrecked me. It completely changed me.
“I ended up drinking a bottle of whisky every single day. I was nearly an alcoholic. It drove me to despair. My marriage broke up. I ended up in a friends’ attic bedroom, in the gutter.
“I will always remember that Christmas Day. I had no money. I couldn't even buy my kids' Christmas presents...I was an absolute shambles.”
Godfrey believes he was silenced by the government.
