The Ravens of the Tower of London
The lack of tourist, and no dropped food on the ground, is driving fears the ravens of the Tower of London may fly away due to lack of easy food and boredom.
This is according to Christopher Skaife, a raven master at the Tower of London. He told the Sun, “If the ravens were to leave, the tower would crumble to dust.”
Skaife is referring to a prophecy by Charles, II; which the king said the Tower, and by extension the monarchy would fall if the ravens ever left the area.
“The ravens have always been so important … because they’ve been surrounded by myths and legends. We really need people to come back to help the ravens.”
There are seven remaining raven calling the Tower of London their home: Jubilee; Harris; Gripp; Rocky; Erin; Poppy; Merlina. The ravens are free to do as they please within the tower’s walls.
Raven masters are hoping they do not choose to leave and take the monarchy with them.
